Screeching Weasel back on Fat. Queers still on Asian Man.

Starting next month Fat Wreck will be taking over the Screeching Weasel, Riverdales, Ben Weasel reissues. As well as a new SW album, to be titled First World Manifesto (to be released March 15 2011). Fat is much more equipped to handle a project of this size. Recess will still hold onto Riverdales-Tarantula.

While I believe it is inevitable for anonymous weirdos to go on message boards and “talk shit” about something they know nothing about, I will say that I love doing business with Ben Weasel. I can’t speak for anyone else but he’s always been fair and it even felt like he had Recess’ best interests in mind along with his bands. The fact is, some really lame stuff happened earlier in the year, that had NOTHING to do with SW,RD,BW, that handcuffed our ability to spit records out at the pressing plant. That’s very problematic if your job is to press vinyl. Everything that did come out earlier to mid year had to be finagled with someone else, in some way or another. Regrets,I’ve had a few but having the Recess logo on My Brain Hurts is not one em!

The Queers is more of the same. Asian Man will take over the rest of The Queers vinyl reissues. Recess will still press “Love Songs…” and “Munki Brain” Vinyl.
I wish Ben and Joe nothing but the best! My life has seen many benefits from these guys existing.

So that concludes our Lookout Records reissue effort. We’re totally back on track now and I’m inspired with the label more than ever. Just don’t expect me to reissue the Yeastie Girls 7″ anytime soon.

I think Toys that Kill and The Arrivals should release a new record once every 6 months and there should be at least one FYP cover per-record. And Propagandhi needs to release their new one (slated for this Spring) on Recess too… Also, a Propagandhi / I-Spy reunion / Toys that Kill/F.Y.P reunion tour should coincide with the record release. Just a suggestion. haha
