Exerpts from liner notes (by Scott Puckett, Publisher of Sick To Move): For several years now, punk rock in San Diego has been a dying beast, a gravely wounded elephant that refuses to die gracefully. Mercy! We should put it down, mourn it's passing & never look back. But when the latest wave started, it was a great thing... To tell this story, we need to go back ten years to the dream of a young boy to someday play in a band of his very own. Chris Fields was that starry eyed lad, making music that was usually on the verge of a riot... Thus, Jon Cougar Concentration Camp was born. The line-up eventually solidified with Chris & Dave from the Hardy Boys as the core members, & a cast of thousands on the cans... In the end- despite their prolific recording schedule- the strain of touring, bad fast food & cheap beer eventually took it's toll. It probably didn't help that the core members were wasting valuble time in other bands, like the Queers. It 1999 the Coug called it a day. But what a day it was! The first full-length is an out-of-print collecter's item that commands hundreds of dallors at auction due to the presence of various & sundry musical guests who, for contractual reasons, cannot be named & will remain anonymous. The remaining releases- Hot Shit, 'Til Niagara Falls & Melon (produced by rock legend Blag Dahlia) - are still available through BYO records, & every single one of them kicks more ass than your average pro kickboxer.
