	The Bananas-New Animals LP/CD (Cd available now---LP soon!) My band was on tour with The Bananas once and at one show they were pushed to do a sound check. I was eating in another room downstairs when i heard them start. All of the sudden i caught myself wolfing down my food very fast like i was in a hot dog eating contest. The reason was cos it sounded like i was missing a huge fun party. When i finished i ran into the room they were playing and it was empty,like most sound checks are. Even from a faint thump street blocks away they have a spirit and energy that many other bands will never come close to even pretending to have. Their first 3 albums are mainstays in my stereo and never seem to lose charm or fail the test of time. Their 4th album, "New Animals", promises even more longevity! Some of their best songs like "Gentrification for Dummies", "Radioaction", "National Anthem", and "Roly Poly" call this record home. Damn I'm glad they exist!

	Screeching Weasel-Boogadaboogadaboogada LP $10 Gatefold Jacket! Recess is currently going through high emotions due to the grantage of releasing most of Screeching Weasel's catalog on vinyl. The first installment is the classic second album Boogadaboogadaboogada. Originally released on Roadkill Records,then bootlegged in europe, and then re-released on Lookout Records, and now on an updated mastered, deluxe packaged Recess version. This album is reminiscent of the better A.O.D. Lets just agree that its been awhile. I dunno why cos its a format that got me thru years of shitty throwaway B sides and turned me onto some pretty great bands. Ah ok enough "those were the days" crap! Dear Landlord is Zack & Half Pint from Rivethead and Fletcher & Brett from The Copyrights. Obviously if you liked any one of those bands you will love their side of this! Zach has not skipped a beat with his great songs. For those of you who wished Rivethead never broke up can stop throwing their stupid pennys in the well now. Chinese Telephones are consistently recording some great stuff! I think they are a hybrid of D4 and The Marked Men. If you heard their great side off The Potential Johns split 12" then your already hooked. go for it! 	recess#102 THE ARRIVALS "marvels of industry" LP $8 CD $10 I was excited as all hell when one of my favorite bands, not only my favorite of all active bands but one of my favorites of all time, asked me to do their next album, but i can compare the initial excitement to a piece of hamster pie when i set it next to how i felt when i first heard the master to this album! I had unforgiving goosebumps for 3 weeks straight! I dunno how to say this without sounding like a used car salesman but THERE IS NO FILLER ON THIS ALBUM! One might think the track "Why you talk all shitty?" might fall under that umbrella but once they turn it up a bit and realize that it is a question that needed to be asked years ago then they will understand what kinda record they have just stumbled upon. 	recess#106 THE QUEERS "munki brain" LP $8 I, like some of you out there, kinda gave up on The Queers after their "Beyond The Valley" LP. I decided the tank was on empty with no gas stations in site. Although there was some gems after that (See: THE QUEERS "Today" EP) nothing grabbed my attention like "Munkie Brain". I think this is their best since "Dont Back Down" and my freind Zack thinks its their best ever. Zack knows a thing or two about a thing or two. We can compare all the live long day but this does contain "I Think She's Starting To Like Me" (think "Pet Sounds" with attitude) which i am pretty sure is my favorite Queers song ever.~~First 300 on colored vinyl! 	recess#101 TOYS THAT KILL "shanked!" LP $8 CD $10 This album should've been called "C'mon catman light my fire" due to all the fires related. The day i got home from austin after recording this my place and the Recess HQ caught on fire. 1 week later Sweatbox studio (where we record) caught on fire mildly. 1 month later the building caught on fire and totally burnt down. The building was owned by the same guy that got shot by Dick Cheney! But that aformentioned title is totally lame and you should thank me for not going down that route.Your welcome!

F.Y.P "5 year plan" LP $8 CD $10 Don’t ask me how Recess reached its 100th release, all I know is that when it came I wanted it to be an F.Y.P release and fortunately I had some FYP demo material in the vaults. The songs on this release are the demo versions for the last FYP album (FYP-toys that kill recess#67). Some of the songs never made it to the last album and one (keep caroline) later became a TOYS THAT KILL song. These versions, in our opinion, are a tad superior due to its rawness.This is the way F.Y.P should sound? Maybe.

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS has stepped up to the plate and delivered a record that rocks with the passion of a thousand Alamo house basement shows. Imagine a stronger MODERN MACHINES,mixed with some DILLINGER FOUR, and then throw in a healthy dose of RIVETHEAD (which this band is ex members of) and you have OFF WITH THEIR HEADS. There is something wonderful and totally punk about jumping up and down while singing songs about misery and sorrow with a smile on your face. Besides that i easily tell you that this 6 song bastard is terribly refreshing. you wont find any bogus "rock n roll baby" shit here boy! If Dillinger 4 was heaven and Screeching Weasel were hell (or visa versa of course) then Rivethead would be on earth. Unbasterdize this one and give it a home,name it what you want,feed it your attention,take off your belt and...ok i'll shut up.

Desperation & heat can drive people fukn crazy to the brink of total gnarlyness sending them home from the bank with nothing but a negative balanced statement and a shitty toaster. THE BLACKS ruled cos behind the twisted damage lied an undeniable catchiness thats usually unheard of with this type of stuff. I think maybe KARP is the only other band i can think of right now that had this kinda character. Sometime between the LP and this split 7Ó we lost THE BLACKS frontman CHAD KERR. This split serves as a tribute that RECESS is proud to share release honors along with CHEMICAL VALLEY RECORDS.
